The peninsular capital of Bahia is now the third city in the country. The sun is a constant source of energy most of the people partyingin Brazil, which adopted its unique culture manifested in theafrican-Bahian rhythms, folk festivals, and cooking poultry.

At the entrance of the Bay of Todos os Santos, Salvador was builton two levels: Lower City, a strip of coastal plain, and the Upper Town, on a plateau about 70m above sea level.
